Get Up & Dance & High On Music

Some things get better with time.
The entire Clarence McDonald Team gives this LP a big star. Perhaps that is why the album displays a large red star on its cover…?
This album always puts us in a good mood! If you love a smooth, upbeat, funky, soulful grooves this album is where it’s at!

“Get Up And Dance” motivates us to do just that. “Just For Your Love” is one of our all time favorite songs… It is an easy, light, soulful song that always soothes (also covered by Earl Klugh), “What The Funk” is a fun, clever tune delivering a message that still rings true today (“What The Funk Is Going On?”) and “Country Soul” brings in the organic vocals of Lani Hall & Deniece Williams.
You can listen to “Just For Your Love” in the music samples (at the top of this web page at aprox. 1:17).

There is no doubt The Memphis Horns deliver excellence with each song. As a horn ensemble they were a VERY effective studio recording group. Truly one of the best!
The rhythm section for the project included some of the greatest LA session players from the 1970’s & 80’s: James Gadson (drums), Marlo Henderson (guitar), Jay Graydon (guitar), David Shields (bass) and our favorite keyboardist Clarence McDonald. McDonald also co-wrote and produced the project with Alan Abraham.

The Memphis Horns

Enjoy this project! They don’t make them like this anymore.
Keep the music playing,
